Comlight in cooperation with Statens vegvesen, Eastern region, the Norwegian road athorities, has verified the effect of activity based street lighting by Comlight.
Comlight in cooporation with Statens Vegvesen, Eastern region, the Norweigian road authorities, has verified the effect of activity based street lighting by Comlight. The measurements showed the expected energy saving based on installed lamp effect, the number of poles and the traffic intensity during night houres. Activity based street lighting by Comlight means full illumination level when there is activity, and light dimming when there are no street users nearby. The result is considerable energy saving as well as full traffic safety.
- The street light installation has 45 poles with nominal effect of 250W per lamp.
- 45% energy saving relates to lamps, drivers and cambles.
- The energy saving was measured to 25000 kWh/year, given 50% dimming when there is no activity.
The test is now finished and the installation is running normally with Comlight activity based lighting system
